While desperately searching for anything half-way interesting to watch last night, I got stuck on watching the Arts Channel. They were showing music videos of classical music, with frilly ballet, ice-skating, or cheesy skits that went along with the music. I swear I couldn't stop watching it for at least half an hour. I'm weird!!!
One of the skits showed a couple, getting all snuggly near a waterfall. It was in no way rated "R", in fact, it was completely charming and innocent. There was absolutely no kissing, but it was really sweet to see the girl and guy show so much emotion, all just for a simple touch. Whatever happened to those kind of love stories? Have we become so completely jaded that love and passion can only come in a commercialized, "sex-appeal" fashion? We have become people that are driven by media and are people that live by the idea that society defines how things are and should be. Case in point = me!
So then it got me thinking about relationships in general. We can get caught up in a world where physical interaction (trying to remain G-rated here) is the focus of a relationship. As if fulfilling any and all physical desires is simply human and is allowed. While some may believe that is true, I believe there is a much greater need beyond the physical ~ the fulfillment of the spirit. We shoudn't forget the importance of that either! I think sometimes people forget that when they pursue relationships. Kinda sad.
