Couple years ago, J.Lo wore these HOT gucci shoes at some awards show. They were freakin' hot. But of course, I don't have 5 bills to spare on a pair of shoes like that, so I had spent a good two days searching online for some knock-offs. I was so certain that there was a pair out there for me to purchase... but alas, I had to give up the dream of owning such a pair of crazy sexy shoes.
But last night... Last night I came across a gem of a store. Every Tuesday, there is a Santa Barbara Farmers' Market, right outside of the hotel. Out of sheer boredom, I walked along the tents, staring at the fruits and veggies that I could neither buy nor store. That's when I hate living in a hotel ~ can't buy groceries! Anyways, on my way back, I ventured into one of those skater/hip-hop stores that sold all your regular hip clothes like Diesel, Miss Sixty, etc... But waaaaay in the back of the store, I came across a shoe... a star... a lost love... there it was, sitting perfectly on the shoe display ~ my dream knock-off gucci shoe. Unfortunately, they did not have my size, so I noted the make, model, and style #, and ran back to my hotel.
I spent the most of this morning frantically searching for it online, where it was mostly sold out. Somehow I came across a London-based online shoe store, that miraculous had the shoe, the right shoe color, AND the right size!!! It was a bit more expensive than the ones sold in the US, plus I had to pay for international shipping, but in the end, it was absolutely worth it. The total cost: $85. Compare to cost of real Gucci shoe: $500++. I am so happy right now... I love shoes!
