Hello fellow readers. Today I've decided to continue on with my entertainment reviews. I guess it only goes to show that I spend a lot of time at home either reading or watching TV!
Good reads: Just read the script for the Good Shepherd. This is a new movie that my company is producing, and the story involves the Bay of Pigs, the beginnings of the CIA, and most importantly, it stars on-screen hottie Matt Damon. wahoo! I have to say, of the 3 scripts I've read, this one is definitely the best. However, it will be interesting to see how paper transmits to negatives. You certainly must have vision to transform a script into a major motion picture.
Good views: Once Upon a Time in Mexico. I was pleasantly surprised to find the sequel to Desperado highly entertaining. Subtle humor, the not-so serious, yet serious, killing scenes. Johnny Depp, a CIA agent, wearing a shirt with big bold white letters - C.I.A. on it, while at a bull fighting match. Also, a great recipe for puerco pibil - worth checking out the DVD for. Pride and Prejudice. Wow. Colin Firth. Mr. Darcy. I can see why Helen Fielding has such an obsession over him. Haven't finished it quite yet, but when Mr. Darcy turns from a cold, uninterested, boring and snobby man into this incredibly gorgeous, sweet, caring hottie. (sigh).
Good clubs: OK, so I actually DID manage to go out this weekend. Went to this new place called Mont Martre on Hollywood/Highland. Very hot place. Loved the decor. Open bar - grey goose vodka. And as one would deduce, I unfortunately had too much of that. :( But once this place opens to the public (right now it's private parties only) - you should all check it out.
