I've been trying really hard to get back to *normal* life, aka life after lollapalooza. But I just can't help it if I keep getting invited to star studded events. The music listening continued, post-lolla:
8/7- Mew @ Troubadour with B
8/8 - Editors @ Avalon with Yessi. Hung out afterwards with Anita. Muchos thanks to DG for the invite. Editors had an after party at Beauty Bar, all really cool dudes.
8/12 - Ben Harper @ the Greek. After straining (spraining? pulling?) some back muscles due to heavy coughing, I thought it was a good idea to go to the Ben Harper concert. NOT. Fortunately, our section decided to keep it cool and sit, so I didn't have to stand during the whole thing. Leesco and I spotted Jeremy Piven (with RW SD cast Jamie) as well as Kiefer Suth. with some brunette.
8/12 - B-side Players @ Roxy (yes, the evening continues). The B's then sprung some random gig on me, so we headed off to the Roxy to meet one of their old coworkers. Coworker greeted me as - you're the big Keane fan! - (thanks Chang...) Had pizza and beer with two new friends (woohoo). Too bad I looked like shit and was coughing up a storm. I was running on zero sleep, and just feeling ill overall. We'll definitely have to hang out with that crew again.
8/14 - Agent Sparks @ the Viper Room. Alex invited Applebum and myself to their show (thanks bohr!). In the beginning, the place was totally empty, so we weren't sure what this gig was going to be like. But then she started to spot some peeps - that's so and so from Phantom Planet. And so and so from Maroon 5. Then it was an explosion of musicians, including Adam Lev., Jason Schwartz., and randomly, Kirsten Dunst. The band was great, I highly recommend.
Let me conclude by saying, throughout all of these gigs, I have been coughing like crazy. I was *this* close to making an appointment to see my doctor bc I feared I might have had bronchitis. BUT! after coming home from agent sparks last night, I actually stopped coughing (well... stopped long enough to actually get some sleep)! agent sparks healed me!!! :D
