Hello friends! It has been a long time since I've posted onto this site. Sorry for that, but things have been a bit crazy.
As many of you already know, I spent the last two weeks in Sydney, Australia. I will be posting to catch you all up, but in the meantime, here are the first two emails I sent out while I was there.
Hope you have all been well!
Kristen xoxo

Email 1: Letter from Oz
Hey everybody!
Well it's me, finally getting email access down in Sydney. It was a very very very long flight, but I arrived here safely. :)
I arrived here on a Sunday, and that evening my friends took me to go see a movie down by the Sydney Opera House. It was very beautiful, as we sat outdoors right at the edge of the bay. The famed Opera House was on the other side of the bay, and there was a huge movie screen that was lifted up above the water. We were all given ponchos in case of rain, and sure enough it started to pour down. I am not sure that I enjoy the feeling of being pummelled by ginormous rain drops, but it was a funny experience nonetheless.
Yesterday I spent the entire day indoors at Kiki and Michelle's apartment staring outside the window, watching Sydney getting eaten up by a torrential downpour of heavy rains. I made no attempts to go outside, and instead sat and watched crap Australian television. Today however is much better in terms of the weather, and I'll be venturing out some.
Anyway, attached is a picture of me and Kiki, down by Coogee Beach (pronounced kuhjee) from my first day here... before the raining...
Overall Sydney so far is pretty cool. If only I could understand the accent a little better...
Email 2: Halfway There
Well today marks the second half of my stay here in Sydney.
The week was great, with the mid-week highlight being Valentine's Day. A bunch of the girls went over to a Bavarian Beer Cafe, where we had a 'palette' of all sorts of different kinds of beers:
Then afterwards, met up with some other KPMG friends. I think about 99% of the people I've met here all either work or have worked for KPMG. This second place made everyone wear stickers with numbers. And if someone 'fancied' you, they could text a phone number, with the number that's on your sticker, and you'd see it on the television screens all around the bar. No one got any texts, but there was a lot of nice eye candy:
After an evening of hanging out with friends, some of us went to this place called Harry's. It's pretty similar to Pink's - a late night spot for people to grab food. Except, it's meat pies. Mashed potatoes, meat, peas, and gravy. It sounds gross, but it actually was pretty tasty:
This weekend was amazing, as we set out for a houseboat trip along the Hawkesbury River. There were jellyfish EVERYWHERE, and I had a really good time trying to whack them with oars everytime we took a dingy (smaller boat) from the houseboat to and from shore. The Hawkesbury is very beautiful, and it was great to just relax out in the sun while listening to music. On the Big Bickies Boat:
I also think I got about 10 shades darker this weekend. Apparently the hole in the ozone is right above Australia, so wearing sunscreen is very important here.
Hope you all are having a great President's Day weekend!
