So some of you know that I was on antibiotics last week for 10 days.
Upon finishing out the meds, I started to have some serious digestive issues. To make matters worse, I was advised by a friend (you know who you are) to take in more yogurt to increase the bacteria in my system that was previously cleaned out by the antibiotics. Makes sense right?
Wrong.
This is what I found online:
Drink clear liquids, such as water, apple juice, tea, bouillon, and flat ginger ale.
Eat only bland foods in small amounts, such as soda crackers, toast, plain pasta, noodles, bananas, and baked or broiled potatoes.
Avoid foods and drinks that sometimes cause diarrhea. These foods include caffeine, alcohol, milk and milk products, large amounts of fruit or fruit juices (except bananas), and foods seasoned with hot peppers.
After a few days, you may return to normal eating, carefully adding back any of the foods that sometimes cause diarrhea.
OK not only that, I've consistently had alcohol just about every evening (in modest amounts of course), and you know how I'm a sucker for spicy foods.
Guess that espresso just now didn't help either. Or the donut this morning. posted by Kris
