Friday was a tough day for me. Morning appointment with the chiropractor, going away lunch for Lange, and then happy hour with the coworkers again at Aphro. Was running late and had to rush over to the El Rey to meet up with Bianca for the gig. Not only that, by the end of the day my back was killing me again! (BTW, today I'm feeling a lot better).
Anyhoo, the show, of course, was amazing. Paul, and the rest of the band for that matter, have such great energy. You'd be hard pressed to find another band that puts out that level of enthusiasm/energy for their fans. The most disappointing part though was that I seem to recall (bc things were admittedly a bit hazy) that the crowd just wasn't that into their performance. I mean, at least do some jumping. Throw some hands up in the air. Sheesh. Sometimes LA can be too cool for school, when it comes to showing their appreciation at shows. But that's another gig gripe... moving on to the pictures...
Friends (Semmel, Sarey, and Bianca):
And my beloved P.Smith. Check out LAist.com for much better pix of him doing his crazy jumps.
